Our programs meet National Quality standard 1.1, particularly elements 1.1.1 and 1.1.2, as we connect children to the indigenous community and offer children hands on knowledge and experience in the indigenous culture.

Our cultural experiences help you to meet VIT teaching standards:

1.4 – Strategies for teaching Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners. Design and implement effective teaching strategies that are responsive to the local community and cultural settings, linguistic background and histories of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners.

2.4 – Understand and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to promote reconciliation between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians. Provide opportunities for learners to develop understanding of and respect for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and languages.

An understanding of Aboriginal culture greatly supports VEYLDF Outcome 1: Children have a strong sense of identity and Outcome 2: Children are connected with and contribute to their world.
