indigenous Games

Students explore and enjoy indigenous culture through sport-related activities based on traditional games!

THE EXPERIENCE

Students will learn about the significance and diversity of traditional games played by indigenous people across Australia and the Torres Strait islands.

Our educator will then introduce a number of games, including Marngrook (an Aboriginal ball game similar to footy), explain the rules and lead the activity.

A fun, all-inclusive and structured activity to explore different types of skill games suitable for all age groups.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Histories & Cultures cross-curriculum priorities:

COUNTRY/PLACE: OI.2, OI.3

CULTURE: OI.5, OI.6

PEOPLE: OI.9.

We supply: All sports equipment needed for the games.

We need: An oval or sports hall and one teacher to assist with the supervision of the students.

Fee: $550 + GST (per class, max. 50 minutes)
