2025 Library - Boomerang Painting

Children engage in an activity, making traditional Aboriginal paint and painting their own boomerang

About this Experience

In the absence of written languages, Aboriginal people used paintings to convey knowledge for thousands of years with art styles that vary greatly across Australia. In this incursion, children are introduced to a number of Aboriginal symbols, and the art of storytellingthrough symbols. Children will then paint a wooden boomerang to take home at the end of the day.
